Ms. Verdier Verified

Donna Verdier was an administrative associate in the Governmental Studies Program of the Brookings Institution. Her background is in ecological research and editing. She was trained as a community ecologist and performed research for 25 years, first on dispersal, predation, resource partitioning, and diversity in spiders and later, as a research entomologist with USDAs Agricultural Research Service (ARS), on biological control of insect pests by predatory and parasitic arthropods. [CR-LF]Before coming to BioScience, she was subject editor for the Journal of Economic Entomology and the Journal of Arachnology. She still remains an adjunct professor at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, and a USDA-ARS biological sciences collaborator. During her research career, she was privileged to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to mentor graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. Verdier spent 20 years editing scholarly books on international relations, economics, governmental policy, and development for Johns Hopkins University, the Brookings Institution, the World Bank, and several academic publishing houses.
