Darin Pritchett is a Sports Anchor for WSBT-AM. He hosts a local daily sports talk show Weekday Sportsbeat weeknights from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM on the station. Pritchett has been with WSBT-AM since December 1998 and was Producer of Sportsbeat for 10 months before beginning hosting duties in November 1999. Currently sharing the microphone with Rick Carter and Bob Chmiel, he also hosts the Gameday Sportsbeat pre-game and post-game shows on WSBT during the Notre Dame football season. Pritchett offers the latest local and national sports news on WSBT's "JT in the Morning" program with sports reports twice every hour. With big high school football or basketball games, he is joined by Rick Carter in the broadcast booth for the Martin's Supermarket High School Game of the Week. Pritchett was honored (along with Carter) in 2004 and 2005 by the Associated Press with a first place finish for outstanding play by play broadcasting in the major market division. Under his watch, the Indiana Broadcasters Association in 2005 gave the WSBT-AM team a Spectrum Award for a first place finish in Sports Play by Play Broadcasting. Born and raised in Petersburg, IL. Pritchett graduated from Petersburg (PORTA) High School in 1989. A golf and baseball player in high school, he was named to the 1989 Illinois Baseball Coaches Association All Star Game. In his senior year, his golf team finished 9th in the Illinois Class A State Golf Tournament. He received his degree in radio and television broadcasting at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville and was the voice of SIU-E men's and women's basketball on radio and TV. Pritchett's professional radio career began at KMOX-AM 1120 in St. Louis, MO as a Sports Producer for Cardinals baseball, Blues hockey, Rams football and sports talk shows. He also spent time working in the KMOX-AM booth at Busch Stadium as the Booth Producer for Cardinal broadcasters Jack Buck, Joe Buck and Mike Shannon, while also gathering sound in the St. Louis Rams locker room after home games. For two years, Pritchett worked in Taylorville, IL as a Talk Show Host and Morning Drive DJ. Pritchett is married with two children and lives in Mishawaka, IN.
