Mr. Mark Platte was promoted from managing editor of the Honolulu Advertiser to senior vice president and editor in May 2006. [CR-LF][CR-LF]He began his career in 1982 as a staff writer for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He joined The Miami Herald's Broward County Edition as a staff writer specializing in transportation coverage. In 1988, he joined the Orange County Register and moved to the Los Angeles Times in 1990. Mr. Platte was named an assistant city editor of the LA Times in 1996 and a deputy city editor in 1998.
