Mr. Morris Verified

Henry Morris is the Group Vice President and General Manager for IDC?s Integration, Development, and Application Strategies (IDeAS) solutions research group, which seeks to understand how technology is being used in support of a business process via build, buy, or integrate strategies. He led a major study on the financial impact of business analytics, which examined the ROI of analytics projects at 43 sites in North America and Europe. Currently, Dr. Morris is exploring the relationship between business intelligence and business process automation ? "process intelligence". He also analyzes the emerging alliances of software vendors in related segments by building models, such as the application ecosystem, the vertical warehouse, and the policy hub (linking analytics to business operations).[CR-LF][CR-LF]Dr. Morris has published research on enterprise information portals and the requirements for unified access to structured and unstructured data. He was also quoted in and written papers for trade publications, such as Computerworld, KMworld, and Software Magazine on trends in business intelligence, business performance management, data warehousing, knowledge management, and enterprise applications.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Prior to joining IDC in 1995, Dr. Morris served in a variety of technical and management positions at Digital Equipment Corporation, where he specialized in software for application development. He was an instructor in technical writing at Northeastern University and Bentley College, and an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Colgate University. [CR-LF][CR-LF]He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction from the University of Michigan and his Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania.
