Ms. Jahad came to KPCC from Chicago where she was a news correspondent, anchor and local host of Weekend Edition at Chicago Public Radio. She was previously a news progarmmer for KPCC. She also served as a television correspondent for WTTW, Chicago Public Television. In addition to anchoring and reporting, Jahad has served as Assistant News Director and Acting News Director at Chicago Public Radio. She started there as producer and contributor. [CR-LF][CR-LF]She has received the prestigious Robert F. Kennedy Award for Best Radio Documentary and The National Associated Press Award of Excellence for her documentary work. Last year, she received the Studs Terkel Media Award for her ongoing coverage of people in underserved communities. Jahad has also earned honors from the Public Radio News Directors, the Chicago Headline Club, Women in Communications and the Unity Awards in Media, among others.
