announced today that UAE company Comera Tech has launched Comera
messenger based on SPIRIT's TeamSpirit.im messenger and VideoMost SDK to
connect users in UEA and globally.
In UAE all voice and video communications in popular foreign messengers
including WhatsApp, FaceTime, Telegram and Skype are effectively blocked
by the local government regulations. So local company decided to offer
free group video calling in Comera app to create a thriving and safe
user community with calls enabled both inside UAE and outside the
country.
Vast majority of people living in UAE came from abroad to work in the
Arabic state and has relatives and friends in other countries like
Pakistan, India, Malaysia, China, etc to talk to especially now during
coronavirus pandemia.
Comera is based on TeamSpirit.im messenger server and VideoMost SDK
technology core. On top of that the UAE company added to Comera app
local client UI, security, end-to-end encryption, user registration and
overall service management to comply with local strict government
regulations.
VideoMost Server SDK is all-inclusive set of voice and video media
processing technologies, signaling protocols and collaboration tools.
TeamSpirit.im, in essence WhatsApp product clone, is a complete set of
source code, from UI to backend, to launch a messenger inside any mobile
app under any company brand. TeamSpirit features include text
messaging, securely sharing documents, files and media content, sending
contacts, stickers, geo locations, and more.
TeamSpirit server is self-hosted, under client company brand and
complete control, not a cloud service. SPIRIT license allows
modifications to the messenger's code and including derivative works
into client app or service.
TeamSpirit.im seamlessly integrates with the VideoMost SDK to support
group video calls with up to 100 interactive video participants in one
room and managing video servers infrastructure (both iOS and Android).
Scalable video coding used by VideoMost SDK ensures the best voice and
video quality even on low density Wi-Fi/3G/4G networks. VideoMost server
handles up to 500 video ports on a standard $2K PC hardware, boosting
the world's best server scalability for a service provider.
