Distribution through the USA TODAY Network, which includes more than 200 partner newspaper websites nationwide.
Please note that unverified or unregulated content, particularly in VUCA sectors such as cryptocurrency, asset trading, NFTs, blockchain, Web3, DeFi, cloud mining, game tokens, and related areas, is strictly prohibited. Submissions covering these topics will not be published.
Press releases submitted without an accompanying image will not be eligible for inclusion in Google News. To qualify, an image with a minimum resolution of 400 × 300 pixels (width × height) must be included. A company logo or a relevant visual asset is recommended.
While every effort is made to include eligible press releases in Google News, final inclusion is subject to the editorial guidelines of openPR and Google News.
To maintain editorial quality and ensure compliance with publisher standards, all submitted press releases are reviewed under the following content classification guidelines.
Topics such as travel, health, leisure, house and home, personal finance, fitness, green living, cosmetics, cooking, interior design, gardening, hobbies, handcrafts, and work–life balance are generally classified as lifestyle content and are not considered suitable for the network.
These topics may be accepted only when they are clearly framed as part of a legitimate business, product, or service announcement.
Example:
An article titled “Gardens for Small Spaces” that discusses which herbs and vegetables grow well in containers would not be considered newsworthy.
However, an article announcing a company’s newly launched product—such as an innovative container designed to improve yields in small gardens and now being shipped worldwide—would qualify as newsworthy.
Content related to NFTs, cryptocurrency, blockchain, DeFi, game tokens, or similar digital assets is not accepted. These topics are classified as high-risk and volatile (VUCA) investment sectors and are restricted across our platforms.
Business news, corporate announcements, financial results, market research, and investment-grade press releases are acceptable, provided they are factual, verifiable, and written in a neutral news style.
Press releases announcing product launches, workshops, seminars, or crowdfunded startup initiatives are permitted. Content must be presented in a formal press-release format and should remain informational rather than promotional or advertising-driven.
Announcements related to book releases, movie launches, music releases, art exhibitions, and similar topics fall under lifestyle, arts, and culture categories and are not accepted.
Press releases containing hyperlinked sales or promotional terms—such as “buy,” “buy now,” “order,” “free,” “free trial,” “discount,” “money-back guarantee,” or “act now”—are not permitted. This restriction applies even when numerical values are replaced with placeholders such as “XX.”
Other than the above-mentioned things, press release power does not accept releases that contain the following things:
In addition to the above-mentioned content, we do not accept press releases, if they are regarding the following topics:
