Kathmandu, Nepal - Vishal Group, one of the biggest corporate conglomerates of Nepal distributed over 60,000 packets of reliefs to various Covid 19 quarantine centers of the country. The reliefs were sent through different NGOs.
Since its inception in 1949, Vishal Group has been working for the betterment of the society, with the motto of spreading happiness to the people. VG Foundation - a dedicated wing to plan and execute various corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities was established in 2008. The foundation has tied up with over 20,000 NGOs and volunteers to reach out to the people in need.
After the country started getting hit by coronavirus, the Group decided to distribute food and other necessary items, including soaps to the quarantine centers. In an attempt to make the affected people smile, the relief items also included treats like chocolates.
Vishal Group is one of the major source of employment in Nepal and has been working relentlessly since last 71 years for the society and economy.
VG foundation regularly distributes books to the less fortunate students of Nepal. The foundation provides scholarships to the deserving students so that they can make their dreams come true. Apart from this many activities, including initiatives for women and children are taken by the foundation.
The initiative of distributing reliefs in quarantine centers was supported by FMCG major, P&G.
The Group is hopeful that the country will be free from the virus soon. Until then, the Group wants to support the country and the countrymen in every possible way.
