Gaslink (GNL), in conjunction with the Nigerian Gas Marketing Company (NGMC), operates an exclusive gas distribution franchise in the Greater Lagos area via a pipeline network of over 100km with a capacity of 140MMSCFD and peak utilisation of about 70MMSCFD.
Gaslink's joint venture with NGMC accounts for over 80% of Nigeria's domestic gas distribution to industrial and commercial concerns, delivering natural gas to over 165 blue-chip industrial customers comprising mostly manufacturing customers, which include Cadbury Nig.Plc., Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc., Dangote Sugar, and Nigerian Breweries, Plc.
GNL receives gas supply from NGMC city gate through its Above Ground Installation (AGI) and distributes to industrial customers connected to the pipeline network infrastructure. Metering, pressure reduction and odorisation of gas received from NGMC are done at the AGI before forwarding to the consumers. A Pressure Reduction and Metering Station is installed at every customer location where pressure reduction to customer's equipment requirement is done and metering for billing purpose. GNL has safely operated the network since inception with neither accidents nor damage to the asset and environment, incorporating best industry practices of pipeline asset management and natural gas safety standards.
