Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IITD) came into existence in the year 1961 at Hauz Khas in South Delhi. It is well known for its engineering and technology, research & development in the field of science and also for its Centres of Excellence for training in India.
Under the œInstitutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 1963 IITD was declared as an Institution of National Importance and since then received the status of Deemed University.
IITD campus offers various facilities to both their staffs and students for both physical development and mental well-being like Hospital, Staff Clubs, Banks, Shopping Centre, Telecom Centre, Stadium, Playing Fields, Post Office, Community Centre, swimming pool, gym, squash courts, music rooms, workshops/ seminar rooms, and other multipurpose rooms for reading and indoor games etc.
