The world came to a standstill in the summer of 2020 with the Covid-19 pandemic and related restrictions. With schools closed and playtime curtailed a lot of students turned to entertain themselves with games and movies. However, some students, like the 11-year Renukuntla Anik Paul, decided to develop their skills in technical courses.
Anik, who already had mastered Vedic Mathematics and Abacus, joined SKILLIT.in 's Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), and Python Programming courses, enhancing his knowledge of technical skills that will be the currency of the future.
These courses turned out to be the driver of Anik's & his father's dream of joining the Synthesis School. Ever since Anik's father, Vijay Paul learned about Elon Musk's unconventional school - Synthesis, he started doing research to get admission into it for Anik, his younger son.
Synthesis School is an institution founded by Elon Musk, designed to teach creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration. It's a place for students who want to become entrepreneurs, or just learn more about business and technology. Unlike traditional schools, Synthesis doesn't focus on academics alone it also teaches life skills like how to work with others, how to be creative, and how to think outside the box.
Vijay Paul, a government teacher in Zaffergadh always supported him and drove him to learn beyond the school curriculum. On the other hand, Anik's mother Srujana Paul is a housewife who always motivated and inspired him to deliver his best in any endeavor.
Vijay Paul said, "Inculcating zeal about things is all that I did to Anik. I taught him Abacus, Vedic Mathematics, Rubik Cube etc that sharpen mind. Later, Anik learned Python Coding, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning from the SKILLIT.in, an online platform."
Nikita Aakhade, founder & CEO at SKILLIT.in said, "We at SKILLIT.in believe in exposing kids to courses beyond the school curriculum. Our courses are specially designed to take difficult topics like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) and simplify them for young kids driving a sense of curiosity in them. These courses helped Anik and thousands of others like him inculcate a habit of problem-solving and logical thinking which helps in many aspects of life. It also helps them to face various co-curricular exams and courses with confidence while having knowledge of latest technology."
After completing his course-work with SKILLIT, Anik prepared for the entrance test for Synthesis. He cleared the three-level online test to join the school. Anik said, "The test was based on problem solving. It also included submission of a video, narrating the solution to the given puzzle."
Anik, who studies in Class VI in government REC Pathak School has now got admitted to Synthesis is waiting for physical classes. Meanwhile, he will attend the Synthesis program online.
