Mr. Wegg Verified

John Wegg specializes in coverage of airlines and air transport, flying and aircraft. He is editor-in-chief at Airways Magazine. He was born and educated in England. Wegg started his commercial aviation career in 1966, in air traffic control in London. He then became a representative with Lufthansa's flight operations department in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East for World Airways. After moving to the West Coast of the US in 1976, he became a sales manager with Finnair for nine years. He has edited and/or produced over a dozen books and is working on a complete study of the Caravelle. He also maintains a general interest in all forms of aviation and holds a private pilot's license. He has flown in 200 aircraft types, ranging from gliders to military high-performance jets. Wegg has lived, worked, and traveled in more than 50 countries, and now calls the scenic mountains and lakes of North Idaho home.
