Jim Walker is a research vice president for Gartner covering semiconductors.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Prior to his 7 years with Gartner, Walker was vice president of sales and marketing for Hana USA for 9 years, a director of strategic packaging and marketing for 7 years at National Semiconductor, and a senior development chemist for 2 years at E.I. DuPont.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Walker is cofounder, president emeritus and former board chairman of Surface Mount Technology Association. He is also distinguished SMTA alumnus. He was an advisory board member of Microelectronic Packaging & Test Engineering Council (MEPTEC) and an editorial board member of Advanced Packaging Magazine.[CR-LF][CR-LF]He earned his BS in Chemistry from California State Polytechnic University, and he completed post-graduate work at California State University in Los Angeles.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Walker is fluent in English and German.
