David Scott is the Central editor for the Associated Press in Chicago.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Most recently, he was a news editor for the Raleigh bureau of the AP. While there, he led the AP?s coverage of the Duke lacrosse rape case, was central in building the bureau?s military coverage, and helped lead a team of reporters covering military facilities in the U.S. He also directed the cooperative?s Blacksburg, Va. newsroom following the Virginia Tech shootings. Additionally, he has been an on-site editor for the AP during several hurricanes, including Katrina, Ike and Gustav. Mr. Scott joined the AP in St. Louis in 1999 as a business writer. He transferred to Kansas City as a desk editor, and then joined the North Carolina staff as news editor in 2005. He attended the University of Missouri?s School of Journalism.
