Mr. Rio Verified

A newcomer at WHHH, Jay Rio is one of Indianapolis's hottest personalities whose program, 'Afternoons with Jay Rio,' is very popular. After his graduation, Rio began working for college radio, even though acting was his first love. In 1993, Rio worked for an AM Christian station. He then went on to do Spanish Radio for several years. Rio later switched from Latino to hip-hop music. It was at 97.9 the Box that he landed his big break, scoring a number one position in Hip Hop music for six years straight. Then Rio landed his first morning show in Tyler, Texas, in 2000. He then left Texas and headed to North Carolina and the Beat, where he was #2 in afternoons and ranked #1 in 18-34 demographics. When Rio isn't on the air he is probably at home watching his favorite comedian, Dave Chappell. Born in Queens, N.Y., and a graduate of McArthur High, Rio is still single.
