Ruben Navarrette is a columnist for the Washington Post Writers Group and is also an Editorial Board Member of The San Diego Union-Tribune. [CR-LF][CR-LF]He worked as a substitute teacher in classes from kindergarten to high school, and has hosted radio talk shows. He has also served as a guest host of public televisions Life & Times and has discussed current affairs on CNN, CNBC, National Public Radio and the PBS News hour with Jim Lehrer. [CR-LF][CR-LF]He is the author of, A Darker Shade of Crimson: Odyssey of a Harvard Chicano, published in 1993. In 2000, he contributed to an installment to Chicken Soup for the Writers Soul, of the best-selling Chicken Soup for the Soul series. [CR-LF][CR-LF]His columns won second place in the 2004 National Headliners Awards presented by the Press Club of Atlantic City. In 2002 and 2003, the Dallas Observer named him The Best Columnist at a Daily Newspaper. [CR-LF][CR-LF]He graduated from Harvard in 1990. He also received a masters degree in Public Administration from The Kennedy School of Government.
