Steve MacDonald joined KTUU-TV in 1996.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Raised in Ohio, MacDonald and his wife came to Anchorage in 1981 for a six-month project. They never left. [CR-LF][CR-LF]MacDonald began his broadcasting career at KABN radio in Big Lake. A few months later he landed a job with KNIK radio and doing sports play-by-play for its sister station, KBYR radio. In 1982, MacDonald broke into the news business as a reporter at KTVA-TV. Four years later he became news director[CR-LF][CR-LF]MacDonald has won a number of awards for his reporting, as well as two Regional Edward R. Murrow awards for documentaries that he wrote and produced. [CR-LF][CR-LF]MacDonald and his wife have three children. MacDonald enjoys all sports, especially, baseball and playing hockey. He loves riding his mountain bike through Denali National Park and roots for the Cleveland Indians.
