Mr. Easter Verified

Jon Easter became the WBDG station manager in 1999. In 2002, he changed the longtime station name from Radio Spectrum B-91 to Giant 90.9 and also changed the format from Variety to Hot AC, a mix of the Top 40 format and the Adult Contemporary format. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Easter began his teaching career as a substitute English teacher at Ben Davis High School in 1997. Recently after, he accepted a position as station manager at WRFT, Franklin Central High School. He was named Franklin Central Staff Member of the Week in December of 1997. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Easter has received many awards during his broadcasting career. He was given the Wayne Westside Values Service Award and was elected president of the Indiana Association of School Broadcasters (IASB). His students won 18 IASB Awards during his two years at Franklin Central High. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Since April of 2000, WBDG students have won six IASB awards, including two first place awards in sports broadcasting. WBDG also moved into its new state-of-the-art studios in December of 2000. Easter graduated from Indiana University in 1997.
