Nancy Cox Nancy fulfilled a lifelong dream when she was named "Miss Kentucky 1990." Cox's other dream was a career in television news. She worked at Campbellsville's independent tv station, WGRB-TV, during college. Her first "real" job was at Lexington's CBS affiliate where she worked as a desk assistant, producer and finally a part-time reporter. Another door opened across the street at WLEX-TV in 1992. She anchored the market's first Saturday morning newscast and reported four days a week. Cox has been with WLEX-TV for nearly 13 years and is the station's 5:00, 5:30, 6:00 and 11pm news anchor. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Cox has won several Associated Press awards for spot news coverage and coverage of UK basketball. In 2001, she was honored to receive tv's most coveted award, The Emmy, for anchoring. But the honors she's most proud of are the AP Awards the station has received for Best Newscast in Kentucky.[CR-LF][CR-LF]On the weekends, Cox spends time with her husband and two children at a basketball game or the park, or any given Sunday, she can singing in Central Kentucky churches. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Cox grew up in Taylor County, Ky., where she was one of ten children. She is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Western Kentucky University.
