Steve Chapman is an editorial writer and columnist for the Chicago Tribune. His twice-weekly column is syndicated nationally by Creators Syndicate. He has been on the Tribune's editorial board since 1981. Previously, he was an associate editor at The New Republic. He's contributed to such magazines as The American Spectator, The Weekly Standard and National Review. Chapman was born in 1954 and raised in Texas. He graduated with honors from Harvard and also attended the University of Chicago. Chapman was a finalist for the 2005 Columnist of the Year from The Week magazine. He is married and lives in the Chicago area; he and his wife have three children.
