CAROL MALOUF KHATTAB

Carol Malouf Khattab is a journalist based in Beirut, Lebanon.

Carol Malouf Khattab is an independent journalist specialized in covering the Middle East and its politics. She has earned a reputation as one of the most daring, innovative, and ground-breaking journalists in the region. She is a regular commentator on Middle East Affairs on local, regional and international TV stations and publications.

Mrs. Malouf Khattab is a former contracted consultant with the United Nations Counter Terrorism Unit, she trained victims of terrorism on communication in the Middle East and Africa. She is also the former CEO Advisor in Media & Communication at the Union of Relief and Development Associations (URDA).

Mrs. Malouf Khattab lectured at the Faculty of Political Science at Notre Dame University in Lebanon.

Mrs. Malouf Khattab is also the founder of Solace Foundation, a non-governmental organization in Lebanon working on sustainable development projects and aid distribution in rural areas. She also runs Lebanese For Refugees, a civil society initiative supporting refugees and Lebanese through aid distribution and emergency response and the House of Mouneh, a sustainable development project supporting Lebanese, Syrian and Iraqi women in Lebanon.

Mrs. Malouf Khattab was the Senior Middle East Producer at Al Jazeera English, based in Doha, responsible for covering the Arab and Islamic world. From 2006 till 2010, she was the lead producer on Arab affairs. She has extensive field experience in the Arab World covering social and political stories. In 2008 and 2009 she covered US elections and subsequent US foreign policy on the Middle East, Afghanistan and Pakistan at Al Jazeera Broadcast Center in Washington, DC. In total, she has covered nearly two dozen countries.

A dual citizen of Lebanon and Australia, Mrs. Malouf Khattab holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Affairs & Diplomacy from Notre Dame University in Lebanon and later earned her Master’s in Middle East Politics from the University of Exeter in the UK. She resides in Beirut.
