Lynn Brooks is WVUA's news director, as well as the anchor for 7 News Midday and 7 News at 5 p.m. She also is the co-anchor for 7 News at 6 p.m. [CR-LF][CR-LF]For her work, she was awarded 2001 Best Reporter by the Associated Press as well as the Turning Point Award for Domestic Violence Awareness. She was part of the news team that was awarded Best Newscast by the Associated Press for 2000, 2001, and 2002. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Outside of work, she is on the board of directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Alabama and the PRIDE organization. She likes to play guitar, travel, and spend time with her niece and nephew. A native of Hartselle, Ala., she graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in broadcast news, with a minor in political science.
