Sheila Balistreri started with KTUU in 1994. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Balistreri started her journalism career in Bismarck, North Dakota, at KFYR-TV. Balistreri has worked in Bismarck, as well as in Salt Lake City, Utah as news director for KKAT-102-FM and KCPX Power 99 Radio. She also spent time working at KSL television in Salt Lake, and was the news director for KFQD radio in Anchorage for several years. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Balistreri won four Edward R. Murrow Regional Awards, as well as Goldie Awards from the Alaska Broadcasters Association, AP Awards and awards from the Society of Professional Journalists. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Balistreri spent three years in the Women's Army Corps during the Vietnam War, in which she was a singer and a dancer with the 3rd Army Soldier Show out of Fort McPherson, Georgia. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Her hobbies include watching movies, making paper stars and attending her daughter's volleyball and basketball games, as well as track meets. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Balistreri is married and has two children. [CR-LF][CR-LF]She graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles.
