Also known as Mr. Big, Big Al is the Midday On-Air Personality/DJ for KSFM-FM. A native of Chicago, IL, Big Al's favorite pastime has always been music. His radio career was launched in 1997 in KSFM's research department, where, taking advantage of intern opportunities, Big Al was able to gain hands on experience in production, promotions, and programming. In a matter of months he was hosting the late night show 'In Between the Sheets,'[which he helped take to number one in the market ? a position that he maintained for nearly 3 years. In February 2001 he moved up to the mid-day prime-time slot, taking what was once a 12th-ranked show to number one in the market in one year. Humorous, witty and charming, Big Al possesses an unadulterated love of music through which he is able to connect solidly with his audience. His station responsibilities outside the studio have grown, with Big Al serving as host/MC for a wide variety of events involving artists such as Eminem, Ludacris, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Xzibit , L?il Bow-Wow, AKON, Talib Kweli, Missy Elliot, Roger & ZAPP, Brian McKnight, Ginuwine, K-Ci & Jo-Jo, Destiny?s Child, Jaheim, Alicia Keys, B2K and many more. Understanding and embracing his personal responsibility to the community, Big Al can be found conducting career-oriented lectures at high schools, speaking at many non-profit organization events, hosting community events, as well as making repeat visits to Solano County Juvenile Hall. Still unmarried, Big Al cites R. Kelly, Wyclef Jean and Dr. Dre as some of his favorite artists, and The Oakland Raiders as one of his favorite sports teams.
