John A. Walsh is the executive editor for ESPN2 and SportsCenter, and covers international, local, national, and regional news in sports. Walsh also serves as senior vice president of both ESPN, Inc. and the ESPN Internet Group. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Prior to becoming the executive editor, Walsh served as the managing editor for ESPN. His additonal work experience includes: founding editor of the Inside Sports magazine, managing editor of U.S. News and World Report, numerous editorial positions at Newsday, sports editor of the Columbia Missourian, and an editor at the Washington Post. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Walsh was also the editor of three sports books and served as a consultant for several publications. He received the Frank J. O'Hara Award from the University of Scranton's National Alumni Association.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Walsh holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Scranton in 1966 and a Master's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri in 1968.[CR-LF][CR-LF]He is a native of Scranton, Pa., Walsh is married with two children.
