I’m a corporate affairs leader in life sciences with nearly 15 years of media industry experience, now focused on executive communication. A former consultant, my dynamic career has spanned a range of industries including financial services, consulting, media, technology, government and healthcare. An ex-journalist known for bringing Wall Street’s behind-the-scenes conversations alive — both on-air and in print — I have worked directly with CEOs, CFOs, SVPs and C-suite leads to craft their corporate narratives and personal brands in a way that links communication with business results.   I currently support Biogen’s CEO, working under our Chief Communication Officer. I partner with colleagues across the globe to advance Biogen’s mission to pioneer neuroscience.

In my prior role as a senior business communication consultant in Teneo’s Strategy Group, much of my work centered on advising leaders how to navigate their most critical conversations, from media interviews and business transitions to appearances in front of employees, policymakers and international conferences. I was a recognized authority on coaching for investor relations events, regularly shaping talking points and messaging techniques for earnings, capital raises and more.

I spent 7 years as a finance journalist, working in high-pressure newsrooms to become a recognized face as a broadcast anchor and prominent newswire reporter. I covered Wall Street's biggest banks at Bloomberg News, where I was a frequent guest contributor to Bloomberg Television, including as fill-in anchor. I regularly broke news that moved markets and gained national attention on Drudge Report, NPR, CNBC and others.

In earlier roles, I developed an expertise in distressed debt, breaking stories in one of the least transparent and most contentious markets in the world. I regularly wrote the most sought-after exclusives about high-profile bankruptcy negotiations, hedge-fund activism and thematic credit market issues. My experience covering financial markets is extensive, spanning business and public policy topics related to banking, credit, private equity, technology, ESG, asset management and special situations including restructuring and mergers and acquisitions.

I received my Master's degree from Columbia University studying broadcast journalism. I studied post-Dodd-Frank regulation of financial derivatives at Columbia Law School.

I’m a graduate of the University of Southern California, where I completed a double major in economics and print journalism. I was editor of the largest West Coast student newspaper.

She's a reporter on the Finance beat at Bloomberg, where she covers some of the biggest investment banks in the United States. She joined the banking team after writing for several years about distressed companies on bankruptcy's brink and the hedge-fund managers who fought over them.

Laura earned a master's degree in 2012 in the broadcast journalism concentration from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, where she also studied credit derivatives at Columbia Law School. She received her class's graduation prize for business journalism reporting. She holds a dual bachelor's degree in economics and print journalism from the University of Southern California. In Los Angeles, she also studied accounting and statistics.
