6x7 Networks, the world's only fully encrypted global telecommunications carrier, announces the world's largest content delivery network.
With over 500,000 servers in 100,000 locations, the network eclipses the second-largest network in the world by CDN provider Akamai with approx 240,000 servers as of this writing.
6x7's global Content Delivery Network is designed for content providers, wholesalers, and other CDNs looking to expand their offerings. The platform will roll out over the next 3 years across 6x7's existing telecommunications footprint, however, it is in beta right now and prospective customers are encouraged to reach out immediately as there will be a queue once deployed.
"We have the kind of scale only accessible to telecom companies, and we want to bring that level of service to everyone," says CEO and founder of 6x7, Lady Benjamin Cannon.
"As a telecommunications company, I get to aggregate the communication requirements of the entire world, and with that comes unprecedented access to underground and space-based assets that I can leverage to improve not just our lives, but everyone's lives."
Cannon, a serial entrepreneur, also co-founded Romeo Systems (NYSE: RMO) in 2014 and is an honorary member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). She is also a member of the World Genius Directory and is ranked as the 356 smartest people on earth at present.
"With the coming onslaught of 32k res virtual environments, no existing network was suitable, so we built one" Cannon elaborates. "In addition, the platform provides an ideal support network for the other oncoming onslaught, FSD cars. When these needs present in the industry in 2-5 years, 6x7 CDN Solutions will be ready."
Security is paramount, "the whole platform is FIPS-140 which means we're ready for DoD use, 6x7 is already a DoD approved woman-owned contractor."
The network will have an egress capacity of over 440,000,000 gigabits/second, or 440,000 Terrabits per second.
"Or, written in a way entirely new to global media, 440 exabits/second." Says Cannon, with a grin.
"Really, we're capable of over double that, but I like to under-promise and over-deliver. Honestly, I could not be more excited to open up our own infrastructure platform of computing directly atop core router infrastructure - to the general public and to the wholesale CDN and distributed processing industry" Cannon continues.
