In addition to his current role as chief editor emeritus of In Vitro Cellular Developmental Biology--Plant, Gregory Phillips is dean of the College of Agriculture at Arkansas State University, where he has worked since 2003. His research interests include development of plant tissue and cell culture techniques. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Prior to his current position, Dr. Phillips was the associate director of the Plant Genetic Engineering Laboratory at New Mexico State University from 1986 to 1990. From 1992 to 1999, he was the director of the NMSU molecular biology program, and from 1996 to 1998 he was the science coordinator for the National Biotechnology Information Facility there. He is also a former editor of Plant Cell Reports.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Dr. Phillips received a bachelor's degree in philosophy and a doctorate in plant breeding, genetics & physiology from the University of Kentucky.
