Mr. Ottenbrite Verified

Raphael M. Ottenbrite founded the International Journal of Bioactive and Compatible Polymers and has been its editor-in-chief for over 19 years. He is also a chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board for Wellstone Filters, Incorporated. He is also a director of Organic Synthesis for Fulcrum Pharmaceuticals. Ottenbrite has received grants from NASA for the design and synthesis of polymeric, heat resistant adhesives for use in the construction of reentry shields on the space shuttle. These investigations have led to 4 patents and 5 NASA citations. He has also written a book titled Polymeric Drugs & Delivery Systems. Ottenbrite has a very long and productive career in medicinal chemistry with a special interest in the design and synthesis of therapeutically active polymers. He is also widely known for his work on surface modifications of films, fibers and particles, and was the first scientist to publish on the successful chemical surface metallization of films and spheres. He has over 200 publications in scientific journals and has edited eighteen books on polymer chemistry with an emphasis on bio applications.
