Nguyen Anh Mai is a Vietnamese visual artist who has great concern in contemporary issues. He majored in Economics at University of Surrey, United Kingdom. However, his interest in documentary photography lead him to work in the field of photojournalism. His works are often a mixture of observational and poetic documentary with heavily personal emotion influence.

In 2013, he joined VnExpress Newspaper and was a photographer in residence. In 2015, Nguyen Anh left his job at VnExpress and has been freelancing for various local news outlets as well as focusing on his personal projects.

In 2016, Nguyen Anh finished One Year Certificate at International Center of Photography in New York. His work is exhibited internationally and in numerous private collection.

In 2016, Nguyen Anh co-founded Matca, an online photography community in Vietnam.
