LYDIA ISNANTO

Lydia Isnanto is a journalist based in Austin, United States of America.

 Independent Filmmaker Lydia Isnanto (Director/Cinematographer) is a native Indonesian and a multi-disciplinary artist. She has worked in her own production business in Singapore and the U.S. for the past 15 years. Lydia’s work focuses on compelling stories addressing the themes of awareness, women’s empowerment, transformation and healing. 

Lydia’s sixth film project, THIS IS ME (2019), she served as writer, director, co-producer, cinematographer and editor. The film was created for and dedicated to mental illness survivors and warriors. To date, the film has been screened in San Francisco Bay area, Los Angeles and Texas and has won nine awards, including a special Mental Health Community Award from the Los Angeles Silicon Beach Film Festival.

For THE CALLING (2018), Lydia also wrote, directed, co-produced, cinematographed and edited the film. The film tells the story of transformation and healing and is based on a true story of a writer, a pastor and a filmmaker, Tony Gapastione. This short film was made entirely with iPhone and has been screened in San Francisco and New York. It has won five awards, including the Best Phone Made Film award from Olympus Film Festival Los Angeles.

In addition to films, Lydia has also created music videos, including BFF (2017), a music video for the song by the same name written and performed by the band, FantabulouZ. The music video portrays a fictional story with inspiration about true friendship. Lydia served as screenwriter, director and cinematographer for BFF in Singapore. The music video has won three awards and screened at the Long Beach Indie International Film Festival and Fort Worth Indie Film Showcase.

Lydia lives her story as an artist and a businesswoman. She realized that she could only go this far because of a strong tribe of people who believes and supports her. Through her passion in storytelling, Lydia produces and directs an ongoing podcast, DREAMPRENEURS CHAT, to support and empower businesswomen.
