In addition to his current assignment, Gilbert Laporte is a professor of Operation Research at HEC MontrTa. He is also a director of the Canada research chair in Distribution Management and an adjunct professor at the University of Alberta and UniversitT Laval. Mr. Laporte is a member of the Center for Research on Transportation and a founding member of the Groupe d'Ttudes et de recherche en analyse des dTcisions, GERAD. He was an editor of Transportation Science. Mr. Laporte is an editorial board member of several other operations research journals. He is a recipient of the Pergamon Prize, the 1994 Merit Award of the Canadian Operational Research Society and the President's Medal from Operational Research Society, United Kingdom. Mr. Laporte holds a PhD degree in Operations Research from the London School of Economics.
