Dane Harris was born in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina and raised in a family filled with gospel singers and musicians. Dane's father, uncles, and aunts were devoted to spreading the gospel message though song and Dane was ever eager to follow in their footsteps. [CR-LF][CR-LF]During his late teens and early twenties, he traveled and sang with his two brothers and his sister in a group called the Socialaires, faithfully following the family tradition.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Dane left North Carolina (and gospel music) and began singing country music in the mid-70s. His quest for fame and fortune led him far from his roots and his faith. After years of unhappiness and turmoil, Dane rededicated his life and his talent to the Lord. God opened the door for Dane to begin a career in the radio industry in the early 1990s.[CR-LF][CR-LF]With his wonderful "radio" voice and his life-long knowledge and love of gospel music, Dane's success as a gospel DJ was inevitable. [CR-LF][CR-LF]At the present time, Dane is the general manager and music director of the radio station and continues to do a drive-time show each weekday morning. Dane continues to minister in song in a gospel group composed of his wife, brother and his sixteen-year-old daughter, Blaine.
