Tom Fiske is part of the Automation Supply Chain at ARC covering the global process manufacturing markets. He is responsible for following the global industrial automation markets, writing in-depth research reports, and providing advice to clients, with particular focus on Process Simulation (including dynamic training simulators), Advanced Process Control, Optimization, and Collaborative Production Management markets.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Dr. Fiske has 15 years experience of broad experience in industry, government, and academia. He has hands-on research, product development, project management, and manufacturing experience in both the discrete and process industries. Throughout his career, he has actively been involved with the simulation and optimization of complex manufacturing processes.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Dr. Fiske has been with ARC since 1999. He has authored many market studies and reports and has successfully completed many custom projects for suppliers and users of automation and production management systems. Prior to ARC, he was a program manager and technical advisor for the Department of Energy with responsibilities for research and development of advanced production technologies, technology transfer, and a R&D program at a major chemical processing facility. Before that, he worked for the Highly Filled Materials Institute where he conducted research in the area of polymer processing that led to over 15 publications. Earlier in his career, Dr. Fiske was a manufacturing engineer for Norton Company where he managed the installation of new equipment and developed manufacturing procedures for new products.[CR-LF] [CR-LF]Dr. Fiske holds a B.S. from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, a M.S. from Northeastern University, and a Ph.D. from Stevens Institute of Technology, all in Chemical Engineering. He also holds a M.S. degree in the Management of Technology from the Sloan School at MIT.
