Mr. Darling Verified

Ron Darling is currently a baseball analyst for TBS Superstation. [CR-LF]Prior to this position, he served in the same capacity for SportsNet New York. Darling was also a color commentator for the Washington Nationals on Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN) for the 2005 season. He called 150 games. Before that, Mr. Darling was an on-air analyst for Fox Sports Net, as well as appearing on The Best Damn Sports Show Period, the National Sports Report and Baseball Today. He also provided analysis for the YES Network and CSTV.[CR-LF][CR-LF]A professional baseball player, Mr. Darling spent nine seasons as a starting pitcher for the New York Mets and was a key member of their 1986 World Championship and 1988 Division Champion teams. He also has the distinction of being the first Mets pitcher to be awarded the Gold Glove Award. After a short stint with the Montreal Expos, the All-Star pitcher finished his career spending five seasons with the Oakland Athletics.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Mr. Darling was born in Honolulu, Hawaii.[CR-LF][CR-LF]He attended Yale University where he was a two-time All-American - leading the Bulldogs to two Ivy League titles.
