Mr. Dana Verified

Joe Dana began his career as a radio and television news anchor for KBYU-TV in Utah. He also made a career stop at CNS News Service in Washington D.C. before joining the 12 News team. Dana won several reporting awards in print and broadcasting, including two first-place awards from the Division Nine Society of Professional Journalists. He received two awards from the Arizona Associated Press Broadcasters Association for his feature reporting in northern Arizona. Dana grew up in Phoenix, the fourth of six children. As a teenager, Dana developed an intense interest in current events. He began covering Arizona news as a newspaper reporter and editor at Apollo High School in Glendale and a youth reporter for the Arizona Republic. In his spare time, he enjoys the Arizona weather by snowboarding and wakeboarding at Lake Powell. Dana is also an avid collector of baseball cards. [CR-LF][CR-LF]He graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor of communications degree in print and broadcasting. While there, he received a Scholarship for Excellence in Journalism, which gave Dana the opportunity to attend the Institute of Political Journalism at Georgetown University.
