Rod Carter is an anchor for NBC 13 News at WVTM-TV. [CR-LF][CR-LF]He worked at WFLA-TV in 2000. Before coming to WFLA-TV, Carter was a morning anchor and reporter at WVTM-TV in Birmingham, Ala. He also worked in several other cities, including Augusta, Ga., and Gainesville, Fla. Carter was also the weekend anchor for WTXL-TV in Tallahassee, Fla.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Carter is a member of the Beulah Baptist Institutional Church, where he sings in the Male Chorus, the Mass Choir and the Praise Team. [CR-LF][CR-LF]He is a member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity and the National Association of Black Journalists. Carter was a founding member of the Birmingham Metro Chapter of the Florida A&M Alumni Association, and is currently a member of the FAMU National Alumni Association in Tampa. [CR-LF][CR-LF]When not at work, Carter enjoys reading, listening to music, watching movies and going to church. [CR-LF][CR-LF]He graduated from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee.
