Sonia Baghdady anchors Monday through Friday on Good Morning Connecticut and News Channel 8 at Noon. Good Morning Connecticut also airs for WCTX-TV at 6 a.m.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Prior to WTNH-TV, she worked for WWLP-TV in Springfield, Mass., where she anchored the weekday 5 p.m. newscast and reported for three years. Before WWLP-TV, she worked in Long Island, N.Y., where she reported for the News 12 affiliate. She previously worked behind the scenes for WTNH-TV with Consumer Team 8 before embarking on her on-air career.[CR-LF][CR-LF]For her work, she has earned an Emmy Award for Outstanding [CR-LF]Achievement in Soft News Series and an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Service Report. While at WWLP-TV, she received Associated Press Awards for her coverage of the stabbing death of a Springfield teacher and for hosting a voter forum on the 2000 Presidential Debate.
