Born in the suburban Italian town of Augusta, a few kilometers outside of Siracusa, the 24 years old composer has always enjoyed pushing boundaries with his film soundtrack compositions. He started studying piano with¨M° Epifanio Comis (Director of Catania's Conservatory). He took part in different master classes with international pianists like Violetta Egorova, Goran Filipec, Eduardo Hubert and Grammy Winner Vladimir Ashkenazy.

In 2016 When I was writing the soundtrack of Anachronisme the director asked me to listen to Max Richter's albums. I did already know Richter's soundtracks, but not his post-classical pieces. I was fascinated by this new way of reinventing classical music. I always thought that soundtracks are limiting my creativity, because the director or the production can have so much influence on it. When I was seated at the piano and composing for the soundtrack, out of the blue a melancholic melody came in my mind, so different from what I had composed until then. I called it Mislaid.
Mislaid was later released in 2020 by Decca Publishing and 1631 recordings and distributed by Universal Music.
In 2016 Castro started also to compose his solo- artist music, Perspectives was his first single self- released in 2016 .
Healing in 2018 self-released, his first EP, a mix of human feelings, exposed within five tracks, crossing from piano solo to chamber strings, past memories and stories from people he met throughout his lifetime, gave him the inspiration for composing these tracks. Thanks to the millions of streams gained by his first Ep he was signed by the Italian label INRI Classic.
Haven it's a safe space for his listener to hide from the world for 3 minutes 53 seconds of affecting piano work.
