OHIO GOP REDISTRICTING PLAN ATTEMPTING TO CANCEL OUR CAMPAIGN

NEWARK, OH —Using their latest redistricting scheme, the Ohio GOP is attempting to eliminate primary competition from Gregory S. Brewer’s campaign for the state senate seat in the 31st Ohio Senate District. Mr. Brewer is continuing his campaign pending the outcome of the Ohio Supreme Court response to the redistricting plan. A longtime Licking County resident and businessman, Mr. Brewer publicly announced his bid for the Ohio senate district just two weeks ago.

District 31 currently includes Mr. Brewer’s family home in Hebron, Ohio. The new redistricting plan, proposed by the Ohio Redistricting Commission and revealed to the public on Feb. 24, moved the district line just north of Hebron. District 31 currently consists of Licking, Coshocton, Perry and Tuscarawas Counties, along with portions of Holmes County. Under the new plan, Hebron will be part of current Ohio Senator Tim Schaffer’s 20th district.

“It seems pretty clear to me their plan is to redistrict any primary challengers to eliminate them from the race. Josef Stalin would be proud: ‘eliminate the competition’.” he said. “Our contention is, the Ohio GOP purposefully delayed revealing the new redistricting plan, until it was too late for any competing candidates to respond.”

The redistricting rules allow candidates 30 days to move from their current residence back to within the district in which they were running. Mr. Brewer said, “I just built my house two years ago. My family has lived in Hebron for many years. My kids play sports here, we’re active in the community. We’re not just going to pick up and move. That’s what a career politician does.”

Mr. Brewer was running to replace longtime politician and current Ohio Senator Jay Hottinger, who must step down at the end of his current term due to term limits. Mr. Brewer was running to oppose Al Landis, another longtime politician, who was previously a member of the Ohio House of Representatives. Mr. Landis is currently a Tuscarawas County Commissioner, who, according to Mr. Brewer, “conveniently lives in the center of the new district.”

“It’s definitely a David vs. Goliath situation,” Mr. Brewer said. “An everyday guy up against the big political machine.”

“I’ve been following politics my entire adult life,” he said. “I’ve been frustrated when I see the same politicians run unopposed, then skirt the term limits on a technicality.” Currently, Ohio Senators may serve two consecutive terms, or eight years, then must vacate their office. Ohio term limits are consecutive, not lifetime. Mr. Brewer said, “These career politicians simply switch from the Ohio House to the Senate, then hold another local or state office, then back after their term limits are up,” he said. “Our founding fathers were farmers, and business owners, or merchants. Public office was never intended to be a full-time, lifelong career.”

Mr. Brewer considers himself just an “average Joe” who wants to improve the lives of fellow Ohioans, and pass laws that reflect and support the values of the majority of citizens in his district. “Thanks to the larger cities in Ohio, we’re known as a ‘blue’ state,” he said. “But the truth is, most of our residents are fairly conservative.”

Greg graduated near the top of his class at Lakewood High School in Hebron, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Finance from Otterbein University. He spent a decade after college working as a mortgage broker, and was top salesman for a major mortgage company in Ohio for several years. The mortgage market crash in 2008-09 eventually caused him to move to a different job as an underwriter, providing a steady salary but taking a great deal of time.

Rosenthal Wealth Management CEO Says Potential Tax Law Changes May Require Revised Retirement Planning

As Congress continues its negotiations regarding changes to numerous components of the tax laws, Rosenthal Wealth Management CEO Larry Rosenthal is advising retirees that their retirement income management plans may need to be revised to ensure that money-saving adjustments are identified and ready for implementation once final tax law changes are enacted.

"It appears quite likely that significant changes will be made in many sections of the tax laws including income taxation, tax brackets, standard deductions, IRAs and estate and gift taxation. Wise money managers will prepare by identifying potential fiscally advantageous options as soon as possible," said Rosenthal.

"Some people will be paying more taxes in retirement than when they were working, depending on how they generate that income. If they are generating it from retirement plans, then the type of plan becomes critical in determining how much and at what rate they are taxed," he said.

Decisions regarding the timing of social security withdrawal are also important tax issues. Potential penalties for early withdrawal must be considered. In addition, social security withdrawals need to be aligned efficiently with withdrawals from other income sources to minimize the tax burden, Rosenthal said.

Pre-tax investments such as traditional IRAs and 401Ks may also be impacted by tax law changes. These investments benefit from tax deferred growth with taxes deferred until distributions are made.

Rosenthal also recommends that money managers pay attention to impacts on after-tax investments, most notably the widely used Roth IRA. These investments provide for tax-free and penalty-free withdrawal under certain circumstances for those who qualify.

Executive Director Pastor Corey B. Brooks will mark the 10th anniversary of Project H.O.O.D. with a 100 Day Campout Against Gun Violence beginning on Nov. 20, 2021. *The kickoff event begins at 4:00 p.m. at Project H.O.O.D.'s outdoor space at 6615 S. King Drive, Chicago, IL 60637.

The not-for-profit organization Project H.O.O.D. needs $35 million to build a state-of-the-art community center on the south side of Chicago to expand services and replace a crime-ridden motel that once stood there.

In 2011, Pastor Brooks camped out for 94 days on the roof of a dilapidated motel that embodied the neglect, crime, and violence of Chicago's Woodlawn community. While on the rooftop, he conceived Project H.O.O.D. with the mission of stopping senseless violence and raising the community out of poverty. He raised enough money to buy and demolish the motel and Project H.O.O.D. has served thousands of people.

Project H.O.O.D. has a proven track record of stopping violence before it starts, providing job training and certification, entrepreneurial resources, and other programming to change the economic status of at-risk youth and individuals. El ataque a miembros del FMLN

Dos personas fallecieron y otras cinco resultaron heridas, después de que varios hombres abrieran fuego contra una caravana del Farabundo Martí de Liberación Nacional (FMLN).

Tras el incidente, tres personas fueron detenidas.

Los afiliados asistieron a un mitin para el lanzamiento de campaña del candidato, Rogelio Canales.

Bukele, en contra de la paz

“Nunca habíamos vivido algo tan dramático, en los 29 años de acuerdos de paz”, aseguró el secretario general del FMLN, Óscar Ortiz.

Nayib Bukele no ha rechazado estos actos delictivos, en sus redes sociales. Un hecho llamativo, ya que el resto de partidos políticos, también opositores al FMLN, han declarado estar en contra de la violencia.

El FMLN apunta, directamente, al presidente del país. “Ese es el odio que fomenta Bukele”, indica la jefa del grupo parlamentario, Nidia Díaz.

La tensa relación entre Nevas Ideas y el FMLN

Desde que Bukele alcanzó la presidencia y derrotó en las urnas al FMLN, que había gobernado El Salvador desde 2009, las tensiones han ido en aumento.

El mandatario ha acusado a la antigua guerrilla de corrupción y de conducir al país a la pobreza y la violencia durante su tiempo en el poder, mientras el partido ha señalado al gobernante de asumir posturas autocráticas y de “castigar a quienes no estén de acuerdo con él”.

Tras el ataque a los miembros del FMLN, la organización publicó un comunicado en el que aseguraban que lo sucedido había sido resultado de “la campaña de odio sostenido de la Casa Presidencial y el presidente Bukele contra nuestro partido y nuestra militancia”.

Los cuestionamientos entre ambas partes se multiplicaron a mediados de enero, luego de que Bukele decretara el fin de las conmemoraciones de los acuerdos de paz que se celebraban tradicionalmente en el país y que era una de las fechas más importantes para el FMLN.

Elecciones, el 28 de febrero

El Gobierno de Nuevas Ideas había estado presionando a la Asamblea Legislativa para que aprobara un préstamo con el que financiaría una fase de su plan antipandillas.

Ante esto, vino un ultimátum de Bukele acompañado del despliegue de soldados de la Fuerza Armada de El Salvador (FAES), que rodearon el Parlamento el sábado 8 de febrero, mientras instalaban una tarima desde la que Bukele habló a miles de sus seguidores el día siguiente.

Estos hech dejan huella, en las elecciones, del próximo 28 de febrero, en El Salvador.

En la cita, unos 5,4 millones de salvadoreños deberán elegir a los 84 diputados del Congreso unicameral, así como a los 262 alcaldes del país y sus concejos municipales.

También tendrán que elegir a una veintena de diputados del Parlamento Centroamericano (Parlacen), una institución política dedicada a la integración de los países de la región.

9F: el ‘golpe de Estado’ de Nuevas Ideas

Hace un año, el 9 de febrero de 2020, la democracia salvadoreña vivió uno de los capítulos más grises de su historia.

Un llamado hecho a los diputados, por parte del consejo de ministros, para una sesión plenaria extraordinaria acabó en una militarización del Salón Azul de la Asamblea Legislativa y con el presidente Nayib Bukele sentado en la silla del presidente del Congreso, Mario Ponce.

El ingreso de miembros de la Fuerza Armada, con armas largas, a la Asamblea tenía como objetivo presionar a los legisladores para la aprobación de un préstamo negociado con el Banco Centroamericano de Integración Económica por $109 millones para la fase II del Plan Control Territorial, una de las principales apuestas del Ejecutivo para entonces.

No se dio dicha aprobación, pero Bukele sí expresó que con el acto se evidenciaba “quien tiene el control”.

El acontecimiento fue calificado por académicos, políticos y miembros de sociedad civil como un Golpe de Estado fallido.

Miembros de NI, avergonzados de su partido

Una miembro de la Cúpula Nacional de Nuevas Ideas, Kriscia Fuentes, denunció en su cuenta de Facebook corrupción en la instancia donde ella pertenece, por parte de sus colegas del partido.

“Como Consejera Nacional estoy en la obligación de cuidar a mi partido que le pertenece a la gente no a una estructura. Debido a esto, me ha llegado información de varios sectores que hay funcionarios favoreciendo con recursos del estado a sus cartas de diputados y alcaldes para las próximas elecciones […]”.

Externó que su partido político va por el rumbo de volverse más de lo mismo.

Por todas estas situaciones de corrupción y violencia, los seguidores de Nuevas Ideas no votarán a su partido.

Ellos no quieren ‘sostener’ a un grupo político, que se basa en actos ilícitos.

El ridículo de NI ha llegado al punto en que los propios integrantes se avergüenzan de su partido.

Libyan Dialogue; Bouznika , Morocco - The delegations of the Libyan High Council of State and the Tobruk Parliament announced at the end of their meetings, that they reached a comprehensive agreement on the transparent and objective criteria and mechanisms to occupy the posts of Sovereignty.

Berlin, Germany., September 21, 2020 -- According to a joint statement read by Driss Omran of the Libyan House of Representatives, in the presence of minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, the delegations of the Libyan High Council of State and the Tobruk Parliament announced at the end of their meetings in Bouznika Morocco, that they reached a comprehensive agreement on the transparent and objective criteria and mechanisms to occupy the posts of Sovereignty. Both parties also agreed to continue this dialogue and to resume these meetings during the last week of September. The objective is to complete the necessary measures to ensure the implementation and activation of this agreement.

The two parties to the dialogue called on the UN and the international community to support Morocco's efforts to create the right conditions and a conducive climate to achieve a comprehensive political solution in Libya. Morocco Talks Pave the Way for New Transitional Phase in Libya

Conflict in Libya: Morocco hosts reconciliation talks between Libyan parties in the framework of UNSMIL and calls for the end of foreign interference in Libya.

Berlin, Germany., September 11, 2020 -- As of septembre 6th, the Kingdom of Morocco succeeded in bringing together the Libyan belligerents after a long period of blocking the political process. This meeting, between the delegation of the Chamber of Representatives and that of the High Council of State, is the culmination of a dynamic diplomatic initiative under the leadership of the King of Morocco. The objective is to bridge the conflict between the Libyan parties and bring them back to the negotiating table.

These talks are part of the strengthening of the UN process and therefore fall within the framework of the UNSMIL vision and do not constitute an initiative parallel to the UN process. This meeting was organized in Bouznika, 40 km south of Rabat, under the chairmanship of the Moroccan Foreign Minister. This latter called for an end to foreign interference.

Last July, the Kingdom of Morocco hosted two Libyan leaders, Salah Aguilah, president of the Parliament of Tobruk, and Khaled Al Mechril, president of the Libyan High Council of State, for reconciliation. The UN has been trying to resolve the issue of foreign interference in Libya and on August 27, Ms Stéphanie Williams, Special Representative and Interim Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya visited Morocco and praised the support provided by King Mohammed VI to the efforts made by the United Nations to solve the Libyan crisis.

Mali: Colonel Assimi Goita Thanks the King for Morocco's Active Contribution to Resolving the Crisis in Mali

The leader of the National Committee for the Salvation of the People in Mali, Colonel Assimi Goita, expressed his thanks to King Mohammed VI for the active contribution of Morocco in the efforts to resolve the crisis in Mali.

Berlin, Germany., September 1, 2020 -- 15 km from Bamako, an audience was granted, at the military camp of Kati, to the Moroccan Ambassador in Mali. During this meeting, Colonel Assimi Goita expressed "his deep gratitude" to the King of Morocco for the active contribution of the Kingdom to resolve the crisis. The leader of the National Committee for the Salvation of the People in Mali recalled, in this regard, that the Ambassador of Morocco was the first diplomat to make contact with the new authorities on August 20th. 43 Alumni PAC Making Impact in First Week

In the first week since the launch of 43 Alumni for Biden (43AlumniforJoeBiden.com), the organization of former George W. Bush Presidential Administration officials and supporters has garnered over 1,000 members for the grassroots mission to elect Joe Biden as the 46th President of the United States.

“We are humbled and honored by the overwhelming amount of positive support that we received after our launch,” said Karen Kirksey, PAC Director for 43 Alumni for Biden. “The response of exceeded our expectations and confirmed that thousands of others are ready to join our effort in putting partisanship aside to restore decency to the White House by electing Joe Biden as the next president.”

Speech to the Nation on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of the King of Morocco’s accession to the Throne: A message of solidarity and hope for Morocco and its economy at this difficult time of the pandemic.

Berlin Germany, August 4, 2020 -- During the annual speech to the Nation on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of the King of Morocco’s accession to the Throne, the monarch said that he cares as much about Moroccan citizens' health and the safety of their family members as much as he cares about his own Children and Family – even more so in the difficult times as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. The King also told the Moroccan people that «It is quite natural in such circumstances to experience fear and anxiety", adding that what has sustained the hope and confidence of Moroccans are the important decisions and the crucial measures taken immediately after the first Covid-19 infections appeared in Morocco". Decisions, the King added, were for “the sake of the safety of our citizens and in the interest of our nation,". “The sense of discipline, the level of awareness and the responsiveness shown by the citizens and by all the nation's forces during this past period are, indeed, a source of pride. Everyone has fulfilled their obligations diligently and responsibly” the King said.

The Monarch expressed his thanks and appreciation to the various government authorities who carried out their duties to curb the spread of the epidemic, calling the people of Morocco patriotic. The sovereign reiterated that he is “aware of the magnitude of the adverse effects this crisis has had, not just on public health, but also at social and economic levels. This crisis has affected all productive sectors, family incomes and the state budget". The King also said that he called for the creation of a special fund to address the health situation as well as the economic and social repercussions of the epidemic, announcing that he is “heartened to see that this initiative has been spontaneously embraced and that it continues to be actively supported,".

King Mohammed VI affirmed that the next phase will require concerted efforts on the part of all Moroccans in order to rise to challenges. Therefore, the King called upon “ all the nation's stakeholders, without exception, to be actively involved in the national endeavors to handle the current situation efficiently and tackle its economic and social repercussions," adding that "We should ensure that the gains made recently, during this short period, mark a turning point that allows us to build on the strengths shown by Moroccans, speed up the reforms required by the present situation and make the most of the opportunities at hand,". The king also calls for the expansion of social welfare coverage to all Moroccans, saying that “Such a plan requires tangible reform of current social protection systems and programs in order to increase their direct impact on beneficiaries, especially through the rolling-out of the national social register,” . In this context, the King added that “universal access to social protection coverage should serve as a lever for the integration of the informal sector into the nation's economic fabric.” . Therefore, the Sovereign called on the “Government to complete the development of a comprehensive, practical approach that includes the timetable, legal framework and financing options needed to achieve effective universal social protection”. The aim, the King said, is to “ensure social protection for all Moroccans”.

The King concluded that " an ambitious economic stimulus plan will be launched. This plan will enable our productive sectors to recover and to increase their ability to provide jobs and preserve sources of income". The sovereign also called for the creation of a national agency to be tasked with ensuring the strategic management of state contributions and assessing the performance of public institutions. King Mohammed VI also called for “vigilance, solidarity and respect for safety measures iin the fight against the spread of the coronavirus".

Independent Candidate Asa Palagi Withdraws From Washington State's Gubernatorial Race and Slams Government Shutdowns

Independent gubernatorial candidate, Asa G. K. Palagi is announcing the withdrawal of his candidacy in formal support of a Republican Governor. Palagi stated he will support Lauren Culp, Joshua Freed, or Tim Eyman over incumbent democratic Governor Jay Inslee.

Asa Palagi commented on his support of a Republican Governor, even though it opposes his general stance of independence, with the following message: "The government shutdowns are not only unconstitutional, but they are also unethical, immoral, counterproductive, and disproportionately impact those who are at socioeconomic disadvantages. The glorification of extended shutdowns is disgusting and shameful."

"These messages are perpetrated by the mainstream media, liberal politicians that have protected paychecks, as well as coastal elites who are all predominantly white, highly educated, and financially well off," Palagi continues. "This will create the largest class divide of the last few hundred years and throw minorities and low wage workers deep into the lower class, while those screaming for shutdowns are protected and create a large elite class."

When initially developed, the Asa4Gov Campaign was focused primarily on free enterprise and highlighted the idea that the key to solving key issues in the state would stem from the private sector. Palagi's campaign also determined it was immoral to arbitrarily shut down industries, as work is truly the only means to provide for a family.
